Description
A picture from Tierpark Berlin, taken in bad weather, but pretty good atmosphere. We've spent three days there and got about two hours of sun all together, but even so, it was a fun trip and an experience - the zoo is huge, with relatively large groups of animals which are thus interacting more then usual. It's a little far for me, but it would be nice to drop by again.

Overall
Vision
Originality Technique ImpactThis is a great shot, for several reasons. Its pin sharp where it matters, and the colors are very harmonious. The surroundings, which pretty much suggest the Northern hemisphere, are unusual for a lioness and, therefore, original. But most importantly, I love the way this cat is cool, calm and collected, and yet very intense. Of course, the fact that she looks straight into your eyes, is fantastic.
Furthermore, this is an example that not following the rules (in this case the rule of thirds) can be beneficial. I think placing the lioness in the center of the photo works great here.
Overall, it's a marvelous shot.
